The trendy 7th district of Vienna holds many wonderful small shops. The concept store musette (small "muse" in French) stands out with its thought-through selection of products assorted around a topic. When I visited just before Christmas, the topic "Gaming" was the overall theme. Books, designed objects, and actual games were lovingly arranged in this small store. Every 3 months a new cultural-sociological topic is chosen by the shop owner Isabelle Blanc who hails from museum scenography.
The shop offers various interesting talks ("Aperos") on the topic and invites experts in the field to help chose relevant objects and literature. The current motto "Zuhören" again finds interesting aspects around "listening" and a program that will surely inspire you. The small Musette Shop will be a highlight of your Saturday shopping stroll and it's certainly a gem of a store that Vienna has not yet seen in that way. Come again and surprise yourself.
