Dzielnica Wisła (the Vistula district) refers to the area next to the Vistula riverbed and the surroundings on its left (regulated, beautiful, with posh renovated Bulwary Wiślane) and right (wild, unregulated, rural, with lots of animals). Dzielnica Wisła offers many events focusing on the luscious nature of the Vistula, as well as its cultural values - new is, for example, a container with a free sauna you can use in Port Czerniakowski. If you want to experience it in full bloom before new apartment houses get installed in Wybrzeże Puckie, the time is NOW.
Kamień (English for stone) is a newly opened educational pavilion just above the Warsaw Zoo, next to Most Gdański & Wybrzeże Puckie. Its main aim is to educate visitors about the green areas in Warsaw, as Kamień belongs to ZZW, the Board for Greenery in Warsaw, responsible for all "green issues" in Warsaw - the parks, renovation of green areas, etc.
Kamień offers workshops in cooperation with citizens, NGOs and scientists - walks concentrating on nature in Wybrzeże Puckie, eco bag making, workshops for tiny explorers - and thus, you can organise your green happenings here.
Kamień was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe award and got a POLITYKA Grand Prix for design.
